The main aim of the research activity is to conduct a pilot study on mobile mixed realities (MMR) relevance in the digital placemaking process. It will further constitute a foundation to build the methodological and empirical framework for mobile mixed realities (MMR) research in the context digital placemaking process. During the research, the author intends to evaluate the capabilities of mobile media, both mobile devices and software, to generate new contexts of production of space in the urban
environment embodied by MMR. The phenomenon at hand will be explored from a social and spatial perspective. In addition, the author intends to investigate the potential use of mobile media as a research tool. The research will be carried out in the city of Poznań. The emphasis on the possibilities of MMR to enhance and generate new contexts of production of space in urban environment is linked with current trends in
human geography resulting from the digital turn, as well as up-to-date with current trends in media and communication and human-computer interaction research. The research aims and results are transferable and scalable to develop the further research agenda.
